Write as if you were piggy. On your way to the castle rock just after the theft of your glasses. Write your thoughts Posted by jordan31 on Nov 4, 2008. |

Put yourself in Piggy's shoes. How would you feel if someone stole your glasses and you couldn't see? What would you say to persuade them to return your glasses? What emotions would you be experiencing? Make a list of these things and then begin your journal entry. Good Luck! Posted by amy-lepore on Nov 5, 2008. |

Consider all that has happened to Piggy. From the first day on the island, Piggy has absorbed cruel comments from the boys. He carries all the physical traits that young adolescent boys tend to prey on. Even Ralph laughs when he first hears the name "Piggy." Perhaps the only value that Piggy had in the savage culture of Lord of the Flies was his intellectual vision. The breaking of Piggy's glasses represented how the group of boy's valued his intellectual qualities. In the moment when the glasses were broken, Piggy lost his identity. Put yourself fin the shoes of someone who has little value in a group and has just lost all that was left. Posted by renkins44 on Nov 6, 2008. |
