How much damage was done by the Great Fire of London?

The Great Fire of London, England began early on September 2, 1666, and burned for four days and nights. By the time it was extinguished it had destroyed 80 percent of the city and 63 acres (255 square meters) outside the wall that then surrounded the city. Nevertheless, the disaster had a positive side: After London was rebuilt it became one of the most modern cities in Europe.
