What are some of your favorite quotations from films?

A post by "sullymonster" on my other thread about favorite movies prompted me to post this one.

My favorite lines are not from classics, mind you, but those wonderful 80's films that I grew up glued to in the movie theaters (and one from the 1990's).

From Tombstone:

Johnny Ringo (played by Michael Bien):  (turns to see that Doc Holliday, not Wyatt Earp, has come to participate in their gunfight)

Doc Holliday (played by Val Kilmer): Why, Johnny Ringo, you look like someone just walked all over your grave!

From Say Anything:

Actress Ione Skye (can't remember her character's name!):  "Nobody thinks we'll make it, do they?"

Actor John Cusack (Lloyd):  "You've just described every major success story."

Some of my favorites:

Doc Holliday (Tombstone): Why, Johnny Ringo, you look like somebody just walked over your grave!

Wyatt Earp: Skin that smoke wagon.

Betty Broderick (in a made-for-TV movie about the woman who murdered her husband and his new wife; spoken to her daughters the day after the shooting): I hope I didn't ruin your plans.

Sorry, have to go with the cult favorite here:

Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya.  You killed my father.  Prepare to die!

Princess Bride - a wonderfully done movie from one of my favorite books ever.  Read the introductory materials to the 25th anniversary edition - comic genius!

I love the movie Meet Joe Black, where Brad Pitt plays Death, and he comes to take Anthony Hopkins and ends up staying because he is intrigued with life.  He ends up commandeering a body, Brad Pitt's, and stays around long enough for the Hopkins character to have a birthday party.

When the two are walking over a grassy hill with the glittering party in the background, Anthony Hopkins says to Brad Pitt, Death, "Should I be afraid?" (regarding death which awaits him) Pitt answers, "Not a man like you."

This line, every time I see this movie gives me chills.  I don't know why, I love this movie, I can watch it over and over.  Its crazy, but Brad Pitt's portrayal as Death is very comforting.

It's got to be... It HAS to be... when Rick is getting absolutely rotten drunk 'cos the perfect girlfriend, who smashed his heart to a zillion pieces in Paris, France two years before, suddenly, unknowingly, strolled into his bar in Casablanca, Morocco, Africa looking calm and beautiful and married.

It's late. All the customers have gone home, Rick's 4/5ths of his way down a bottle of whisky and alone except for his mate Sam who's keeping him company and worried like hell that his boss is cracking up (again). Rick lifts his head, looking the picture of a masculine broken hearted man...

"Of all the bars... in all the towns... in all the world... she walks into mine." *thumps bar*

Sam tries to get him to go to bed but, instead, he asks Sam to play 'As Time Goes By' the song that defines his relationship with the girl from Paris. Up to now that song has been completely banned at Rick's bar. He DOES NOT say 'play it again, Sam.' he says...

"You played it for her; you can play it for me, If She can stand it, I can... now play it."

And he tries to hold it all together while Sam plays, and fails weeping against his will... awesome stuff

Philip Henslowe (expertly played by Geoffrey Rush) in Shakespeare in Love, had a pat answer to every question that was asked of him, particularly questions along the lines of, "How is it going to be okay?"  "How is it all going to work out?"

"I don't know...it's a mystery."

Tom Stoppard is awesome! :)

I think there's one great quote that really sums up the message of "American History X". When speaking to Derek in the prison trying to open his eyes to the reality of his life, Dr. Sweeney asks what we should all ask ourselves: "Has anything you've done made your life better?"

My all time favorite quote is from "Gone With The Wind". Scarlet says.... "I cannot think about that now...I will think about that tomorrow....after all tororrow is another day"................She is the ultimate female survivor.
