Chemiscal properties determine what kind of chemical changes will take place.  For Example, Group 1 & 2 Earth Metals are VERY reactive and Group 18 Inert Gases are UNreactive.  Metals react with acids.

Each element has chemical properties based on its atomic structure that determine how it will undergo chemical change as it reacts with other elements.

Chemical Change occures when a new substance is formed.
