It probably seems obvious to say that a Russian-language production of Twelfth Night foregrounds issues of translation. In this inventive, surprisingly entertaining version, directed by Declan Donnellan, designed by Nick Ormerod for the Chekhov International Theatre Festival, and imported to the Brooklyn Academy of Music's Harvey Theatre in November 2006, Shakespeare's text underwent not only a translation into Russian, but also a translation back into English for the above-stage titles.
