Back to the Future, Part 3 (1990) Back to the Future, Part 3

Back to the Future, Part 3 ★★★ 1990 (PG) Picks up where Part 2 climaxed a la cliffhanger. Stuck in 1955, time-traveling hero Marty frantically searches for Doc Part 1 so he can return to 1985. Instead, he finds himself in the Wild West circa 1885, trying to save Doc's life. Plot is related to earlier BTTFs, so first time viewers might be confused. For those who've seen previous incarnations, the clever interconnections are really nifty. Nearly matches the original for excitement and offers some snazzy new special effects. Supposedly the last installment, though don't be surprised if another sequel follows. The complete trilogy is available as a boxed set. 118m/C VHS, Wide. Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Mary Steenburgen, Thomas F. Wilson, Lea Thompson, Elisabeth Shue, Matt Clark, Richard Dysart, Pat Buttram, Harry Carey Jr., Dub Taylor, James Tolkan, Marc McClure, Wendie Jo Sperber, J.J. (Jeffrey Jay) Cohen, Ricky Dean Logan, Jeffrey Weissman; Director: Robert Zemeckis; Writer: Robert Zemeckis, Bob Gale; Writer: Dean Cundey; Cameo: Alan Silvestri.
