Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002) Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets ★★★½ 2002 (PG) Action-packed sequel tops its predecessor with less exposition and more adventure as Harry (Radcliffe) and his friends at Hogwarts try to discover the force that's terrorizing the school. In his second year at school, the young (but obviously growing) wizard re-teams with fellow school chums Ron (Grint) and Hermione (Watson) to brave new dangers posed by the Chamber of Secrets, which may lie somewhere in the halls of the school, unbeknownst to professors Rickman, Smith, and even headmaster Harris. Everything about this outing is bigger and better, including a delightfully expanded, labyrinthine Hogwarts. Sometimes over-the-top thrills may be a lot for younger viewers. Book two in Rowling's series. 161m/C VHS, DVD. US Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Kenneth Branagh, Robbie Coltrane, Richard Harris, Maggie Smith, John Cleese, Jason Isaacs, Tom Felton, Alan Rickman, Warwick Davis, Richard Griffiths, Fiona Shaw, Julie Walters, Shirley Henderson, Mark Williams, Julian Glover, Miriam Margolyes, Christian Coulson, Gemma Jones, David Bradley, Bonnie Wright; Director: Chris Columbus; Writer: Steven Kloves; Writer: Roger Pratt; Cameo: John Williams; V: Toby Jones.
