I'm looking for a quote about community...community participation and/or giving back. Any suggestions? My father died recently. He was a great lover of Shakespeare and, in fact, resurrected the Shakespeare Folger Theatre in Washington, D.C. This quote I'm looking for is for his headstone. I'd be eternally grateful if someone was able to assist me in locating some options. Thanks. Julie Posted by juliefirth on Aug 15, 2008. |

I'm not sure if any of these will fit what you're looking for, but they all in some way treat the idea of coming together, or of a communal feel. The last one is of death, but I think it's beautiful. Hope it helps! Good luck! "The noble tribunes are the people's mouths, / And we their hands... " Coriolanus, III, i "What is the city but the people?" Coriolanus, III, i "... good company, good wine, good welcome, /Can make good people...." King Henry Viii, I, iv "Throng our large temples with the shows of peace,/ And not our streets with war." Coriolaus, III, "For in that sleep of death what dreams may come..." Hamlet, III, i Posted by lizbv on Aug 15, 2008. |

How about: I will follow thee OR this one, which may not apply as it's talking about a friend turned enemy The man nearest my soul, Or this one, which is actually a daughter speaking of her father: You have begot me, bred me, loved me. I Posted by blazedale on Aug 15, 2008. |

I took a Shakespeare class taught by Alan Dessen at UNC many years ago. He always talked about the Folger Library, and I daydreamed about visiting it. How about:
